How It Started

Built on the Outer Banks, for the Outer Banks

Tom Ritchie grew up on the OBX — swimming in hotel pools before the vacation rental boom changed everything. His family owned Rollason and Wood Realty, one of the area's largest rental companies, so he spent his childhood understanding what property owners needed most.

In 2005, Tom turned that insight into Ritchie Pools & Spas. He built a team of personally trained technicians, established a reputation for showing up on time and doing the job right, and earned the company's BBB A+ accreditation. Today, Ritchie is also a licensed Aspen Spas dealer — bringing premium spa products directly to OBX property owners.

Today, hundreds of property owners across the Outer Banks trust Ritchie to protect one of their biggest investments — and most of those clients have been with us for years. That loyalty isn't accidental. It's earned.

OBX native. Tom started the company in 2005 after growing up in the rental property industry. He personally trains every technician before they touch a client's equipment.
